Well done. Keep going. Imo you can move up to 60s if you had the right bankroll.

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of defending 86o at under 40bb tbh. It's fine if stacksizes were deeper, or if you 3bet bluff with it.
Flopping straightdraws etc loses so much value when stacks are shallower since you lose fold equity vs top pair/even midpair, and you need to check/fold too many flops anyway.
Also the AJ hand- I disagree with sizing ott unless he is a total station. A LOT of his hands that peeled flop won't like that turn (except when he is slowplaying like he was). You need to think about the range of hands you want to get value from. E.g. imagine if you were bb and you called flop- what part of your range are you calling ott to that sizing??
Also remember as a general rule that the check/call, check/call donk line is pretty much always a sign of strength, and raising on the river is just too thin imo given how the action went so far (he has shown more strength than you by calling 2 huge bets 2 streets, then donking river).

In the AJ hand you are pretty much ONLY getting value from AdXx hands. Though I am readless unlike you- I would think he'd be fast playing those otf, and a lot of the Ax 3bets pre anyway.

I just followed the ebook on husng.com, where it says you can almost call with 86o against some oppoents even when it is 20bb deep. So with 40bb deep it is probably better to call I think. For AJ hand, I thought he probably won't have low flush either, since he would probably make a raise on flop with those. On river, his donk was so small, that I thought I was ahead. Since I already played my hand very strongly and I probably would never fold if he donks all in, unless I am completely bluffing early on. On turn I just want him to fold a diamond, I played a lot of ppl who just keep calling with even a fairly low diamond until river.

Also with my stats, I called minbet from bb with 68o about 50 times and ended up with -0.8bb per hand. The sample is small but it suggests that it is probbably marginal call

Why would you want him to fold a diamond ott? If he is calling with small diamonds to a bet of 250 then 250 is much better than 400 and folding out small diamonds. There is no way he is able to get enough value otr to justify his call of 250 with some small diamond. His implied odds and immediate odds are still terrible when a 4th diamond comes otr, and he himself has no idea if he is ahead or behind.
And you are also protected with some of your range here being Ad or whatever, so him calling with small diamonds is very bad.
Also your bet folds out hands that we are hugely favourite over- such has one pair hands without a diamond. In fact with your sizing, even something like T6, A6 or AT is a bluffcatcher to your pure valuerange. It's always a bad idea to over-represent the strength of your value hand. Anyway I would only bet this big if I KNEW that he isn't folding enough of his range (which is very unlikely).
Also with the 68o hand I just fold anyway. It just depends on his opening %, and imo if he is opening very wide, then 3betting is much better. I personally fold or 3bet the bottom of the Ebook's bb flatting range (many highstakes regs defend tighter too anyway since it is close). Obviously I call vs someone I have an edge over postflop.

You are probably right in that you can defend 86o. But probably it is worse than -1bb when you filter for under 40bb stats imo (though I think this is impossible in HEM?).

86o is pretty much the bottom of my defend range at 50bbish. And i 3bet or fold it for shallower stacks readless (obviously normally I would have reads by this point anyway)...
