Blow up

A blow-up is a widely used term for any bad or dumb move in which a player suddenly and uneccessarily loses a large sum of money. All-in bluffs and hyperaggressive moves against an opponent who clearly has a better hand are blow-ups. A player throws a ton of chips into a hopeless situation, often because he's on tilt. The pro poker player Mike Matusow (aka Mike Matusow Blow-ups) is famous for his blow-ups, since he tends to blow his winnings accumulated over a long period of solid play in one deft and catastrophic blunder.
