Semibluff

A semibluff is a bluff with a hand that is currently weak but has potential for development into a strong hand. The goal of the semibluff is not necessarily to push out all opponents since there is still the possibility of winning the showdown with a completed draw. Hence, one aim of the semibluff is to get money in the pot in early rounds to increase your potential winnings. The chance that the opposition folds plus the chance of completing the draw and winning a large pot can make this a profitable move. Typical applications of a semibluff occur when you have an incompleted hand that could be completed if the proper card is dealt in the remaining portion of the game.
