PokerStrategy.com: Hi Zacharrrr. It would be great if you could briefly introduce yourself to our members.

Zacharrrr: Hello! I am 22 years old, I come from the beautiful city of Vienna and am a university student. My passion is travelling and I'm very thankful that poker makes that possible for me. The last continent missing on my list is Africa, but I'm confident that I'll get to visit this beautiful continent in 2010. Other than that, I do a lot of sports, read all kinds of books and the rest of my time is spent on my studies.

PokerStrategy.com: Have you already planned your next trip?

Zacharrrr: I'm flying to Brazil in a few days and I will stay there until early October. After getting to see a fair share of the country's south last year, I am visiting the north this time. I will be travelling along the coast, where it should be from 30 to 35 degrees despite the winter. I will spend most of my time surfing, going to the beach and partying before the next semester begins.

PokerStrategy.com: Since when has poker been a part of your life?

Zacharrrr: The first time I played was at Bwin when I was 18 – 1$ NLHE SNGs, those were the days... there were always three or four players who would open-shove in the first round.

I actually don't see myself as a pro. I'm just happy to have a great job that opens up many opportunities to me. Sure, I've been really lucky, but some people just don't see the hard work you have to put in to make it where you are today.

PokerStrategy.com: Please tell us a bit about your poker career so far.

Zacharrrr: After small successes in 1$ SNGs, I'd repeatedly lose around 50 euros, since I was playing without any kind of bankroll management. I didn't play No Limit for long, but switched to Pot Limit Omaha rather quickly.

At Pacific Poker I played PLO without really knowing the rules ("What? You have to use exactly two cards? Huh!?"). Luckily, the other players in the small limits weren't any better back then. In 2008 and big parts of 2009 I was a very marginal winner until it finally clicked around the end of 2009. That's when I actually began to understand PLO.

PokerStrategy.com: Which limits do you play?

Zacharrrr: I play PLO $2/$4 up to $10/$20. Recently I've mainly focused on PLO $5/$10 and $10/$20. At PLO $25/$50 things haven't gone too well for me so far.

PokerStrategy.com: What can PokerStrategists expect from your videos? Which limits will we see?

Zacharrrr: Good question! I think I will go by what the community wants to see. As I really play a lot and am familiar with the games that are played these days, I think I can provide "up-to-date-coaching", so that as many members as possible will experience a steep learning curve.

PokerStrategy.com: Are there any tips you would like to give our PokerStrategists? What do you think is particularly important to become a better poker player?

Zacharrrr: It is very important that you have something besides poker to balance out things. Discipline, hard work and of course a little bit of luck are other factors that contribute to success. What helped me personally was to always keep in touch with other players, sweat sessions as well as many strategy discussions. What's funny is that there were also two NL players who helped me improve, although they don't even play PLO. But still, they taught me a lot about timing, board textures, bet sizing etc. - I am very thankful for that!
