PokerStars Allows Elephant Again - Update #2
The misunderstanding has been resolved and PokerStars has put the PokerStrategy Elephant back on the list of allowed software tools.
Since yesterday, PokerStrategy's Elephant has been listed - wrongfully so - amongst the prohibited software of PokerStars. Until the problem is solved, you should not play at PokerStars with Elephant!
In the report about the list of prohibited tools and services, PokerStars writes:
Some examples of tools and services which are prohibited only while PokerStars is running are:
...
2. PokerStrategy Elephant
...
Thus Elephant was classified as software which may not be used while playing on PokerStars. Software from competitors which use the exact same features were, however, not added to this list. As there is no reason for Elephant to be treated differently, it can only be a misunderstanding.
PokerStars has already expressed its regret for taking this measure without talking to PokerStrategy prior doing so. Furthermore, both parties will hold a meeting this afternoon to resolve this problem. We expect a response this evening, or tomorrow morning at the latest.
Conclusion:
Elephant is wrongfully on this list, and we are already in touch with PokerStars to clear up this mistake.
Nonetheless, we advise against using PokerStrategy's Elephant on PokerStars for the time being. If you still use PokerStrategy's Elephant on PokerStars, PokerStars reserves the right to temporarily close your account.
We will keep you informed about the further development.
Update #1
Meanwhile, PokerStars also believes it was a misunderstanding. Tomorrow afternoon, the software will be analysed once more, and the final result will be communicated to us. If this result is positive for the Elephant, as expected by PokerStars and us, it will immediately be removed from the list of prohibited tools and services, and instead added to the allowed software tools.
Update #2:
Meanwhile, PokerStars has acknowledged that it was a mistake. Accordingly, the list of prohibited tools and services has been revised - and PokerStrategy's Elephant has been moved to the list of permitted tools:
The following are examples of tools and services which are permitted:
42. PokerStrategy Elephant
43. PokerStrategy Equilator
We wish you good luck while playing - also with Elephant.

@2: Newest versions of the Elephant are actually becoming increasingly more powerful. So not only is the software more 'user friendly' but also an increasingly more powerful analysis tool. The current stars ruling looks like a misunderstanding though

This sucks! Stars is my main sight w most of my BR. Are they actually enforcing against Elephant while this is being worked out or is it too risky to play there. I've switched to fulltilt for now, but I don't like it as much for FL. How did the meeting/response go?#6

Stars will link your account to PS if you email them a request to do so. That's how I got mine linked. I created the Stars account before joining. I asked them to link my account to this sight or it would be pointless for me to play there. They linked it and then I followed the PS procedure to enable information sharing. It took a few days.#7
