SwapShop has captured victory in heat number 3, making it a second win in a row for the German community. The cash game specialist was very quiet for the first few levels of the tournament, and allowed
Bumbi999,
Zekesito, and
TMFinger to dictate the action - with the chip lead swinging around between the three of them in the early exchanges. But the momentum soon changed when SwapShop, who was starting to get quite short, pushed all in with A3 of diamonds, and was looked up by the A8 of Bumbi999.
A three on the river crippled Bumbi999, and put SwapShop into the chip lead, which he never gave up.
SwapShop went on a massive heater thereafter, and eliminated most of the remaining players on his way to the heads-up match with
Bach23 of Russia. The match lasted a very long time, as Bach23 was a cagey customer, and although SwapShop didn't have things his own way for a lot of it, he never gave up pressuring the Russian.
The final hand saw Bach23 raise with AT of clubs, only to be reraised all-in by SwapShop, holding 97 of clubs. Although he was in big trouble, a nine on the flop gifted SwapShop the victory.
Afterwards the young German acknowledged how lucky he was, having outdrawn every player he eliminated along the way.
But this wasn't the entire story of the heat, as SwapShop put his chips to good use and continually pressured his opponents after getting the chip lead.
He may have got lucky in the elimination hands, but he was a very deserved winner.

SwapShop becomes the 2nd German heat winner from 3 heats. Interestingly, so far a Russian has made it to the heads-up stages in every heat.
