Top 3 English Community Tournament Scores of 2011

2011 has been a successful year for the English Community as a whole and we'd like to take the opportunity to toast the three members who took down this year's biggest scores for our community.

2011 was the year where succeeded $1 Million in 1 Year Challenge for the first time ever! Many of you contributed to hitting that seemingly elusive target and all of you deserve a pat on the back for a job well done.

If you've made a big score this year yourself  and would like to share it with the rest of your friends in the community, join in the discussion in our discussion thread:

Wha't you biggest score in 2011? Please tell us!

Here are the three biggest prizes won by our members that deserve another special mention:

Chenny8888 wins back to back titles at the NZ Poker Open

Our coach chenny8888 was accused of trying to hit the $1 million target all by himself so you shouldn't be surprised that he also took down the biggest score of our community this year.

In June this year, chenny8888 returned to the NZ Poker Open as it's defending champion and outlasted the 190 man field to become the only player to win that title two years in a row and take home NZ $50,650.

Here's Chenny talking about his win in a video interview:

Kaitz20 turns $1 into $34,000 in PokerStars World Record Event

Second place goes to another one of our coaches Kaitz20 who took down second place in the biggest tournament ever held in the history of poker, the recently concluded PokerStars World Record $1 Tournament.

After outlasting 199,998 players, Kaitz20 went heads-up against Russian PokerStrategist sokoluk1991 but unfortunately came up short. Here's a quote from Kaitz20 after his win:

"I have to confess that I didn't have any big suckouts," said Kaitz20 on his $34,000 score. "Aggression is key to win these tournaments - you can open any two in middle and late position and get folds from players with a few big blinds.

The final hand of this event:

3. Who knew that ihufa could actually play poker???

Love him or hate him, ihufa who is the English Community forum's resident troll cannot be missed as he is one of our most prolific posters.

The third biggest score this year goes to ihufa for his $20,585 win in the Bigger $55 on PokerStars this May. He outlasted and most probably out-chatted almost all of the 4,600 man field but came up just short in the end to finish in second place.

ihufa wins $20,585

Congratulations to all three of our big winners, hopefully the rest of you will also up your game in 2012 and bring even more success to the English Community!
