Top Threads of the Week: Dealing it Four Times in the PokerStars' Big Game

In online poker there are only a few platforms offering to run a board for two times, while in live poker it has become a habit to run it for up to 4 times in certain cases. This week Phil Hellmuth learned that this method does not always reduce the variance of a decision.

1. PokerStars Big Game

In PokerStars' new TV show called "the Big Game", Phil Hellmuth offers the amateur player to run the turn and river for four times. Hellmuth holds trips on a 9hTs9s board, while his opponent is dealt KsKc. The board structure made Hellmuth the 85 to 15 favorite.

We are not going to reveal the outcome, but it inspired NIVEKii to start a thread about this interesting hand in our forum, including the corresponding Youtube video.

2. The Death Sentence

Should it be re-introduced? devilplayer asks this interesting question, after a man killed twelve innocent people in Great Britain this week. 3. Epic Bluff Fail

Community member sirilidion was somewhat surprised when his opponent revealed his hand at the showdown. The PokerStrategists held AhJh on a 2cAdQdJd board, before both parties went all-in. He apparently had a read on his opponent and neither feared the flush nor the straigt. The River brought another diamond with the 2d, but to sirilidion's surprise his opponent showed...
