Two young players from the PokerStrategy.com Russian community found themselves heads-up in the first heat of the PokerStrategy.com TV World Championship, with znah eventually taking it down.

Heat 1 of the PokerStrategy.com TV World Championship was a subdued and tense opener, with players from Germany, Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia all taking to the felt.

Although you could cut the atmosphere with a knife, the play was anything but cagey, with fast aggressive action from the offset.

Bonifacius was involved in most of the pots from the offset, but usually on the wrong end of them. Eventually, after being three-bet one hand earlier by mcsias, and reluctantly having to fold, he found himself being three-bet once again.

Regretably for Bonifacius, this time he could not put down his KQ, and walked straight into the pocket kings of mcsias, which resulted in him becoming the first casualty of the tournament.

This also was the start of the runaway steam train that was mcsias, as the young player from Belarus put his chips to good work, as he quickly added to his lead by pressuring the rest of the table.

Soon after he dispatched ETSERATOV, who shoved after getting low on chips with KQ and walked straight into the pocket tens of mcsias.

Aggressive action none stop

To his immediate left, young Russian znah was equally as active from the get go, matching mcsias all the way in the chip counts, and going on a heater towards the end to eliminate Mattee in 4th place and ROBSON1966 in 3rd place in quick succession.

It was only fitting that these aggressive young two players from the Russian PokerStrategy.com community would meet each other heads-up.

Between them they eliminated every other player at the table, and were constantly forcing the action when the rest of the table appeared to tighten up.

znah took an early lead heads-up, winning a quick succession of small pots, to give him a 3-1 chip lead over his opponent. With such a fast aggressive structure, znah soon found himself shoving with A4, and was quickly called by mcsias with KQ.

znah spiked a 4 on the flop, but he didn't need it, as the board ran out complete blanks for mcsias.

Beat boxing Russian znah is the first heat winner in the PokerStrategy.com World Championship, and will be joining us again in London from December 12 to take his seat in the Grand Final.
