Adjustment Of StrategyPoint Allocation

The parameters of the poker world are in constant flux. To keep our status system and the Top250 promotion fair, we are now adjusting the StrategyPoint allocation for two of our affiliates.

A look back: In August 2007, PokerStrategy.com only had two affiliates – Titan Poker and PartyPoker. Ever since, a 1-to-1 conversion from PartyPoints to StrategyPoints has taken place, whereas Titan started with 4 StrategyPoints for each Dollar Gross Rake. Due to this, it was already easier back then to achieve a good PokerStrategy status at Titan Poker. In September 2007, we reacted and allocated 1.25 StrategyPoints for each PartyPoint.

Since then, over a year has passed and the bonus systems for both Titan Poker and PartyPoker were changed several times – and, at the same time, ten new affiliated sites have joined us.

Here is latest news about the bonus system of both affiliates:

Now, it's time to adjust the allocation of StrategyPoints once again, most importantly, to keep the Top250 promotion as fair as possible. Fair means that those who add the most to the community also collect StrategyPoints the fastest.

A reason for the differences is that we fully or partly finance the costs of bonuses and rakeback on every affiliated site. Thus the size of these bonus and rakeback costs directly influence how much a member contributes to the financing of our community and our offers.

The Changes

As of November 7th 2008, these rules apply:

  • At PartyPoker, you will now receive 1.5 instead of 1.25 StrategyPoints for each PartyPoint.
  • At Titan Poker, you will now receive 3 instead of 4 StrategyPoints for each Dollar Gross Rake.

This way, the fairness of the points collection is increased for every player. The overall average of each of our affiliated sites will not be influenced by this – the total number of collected StrategyPoints by every player will literally remain unchanged by this adjustment.

Please note: with this change, players on Titan Poker are now not disadvantaged compared to the average player at PokerStrategy! In average over all partner sites, players, limits, and game types, you get 1 StrategyPoint per Dollar Gross Rake.
