Betfair Poker Joins Ongame Network

Betfair and the Ongame Network have signed a merging agreement which came into effect on July 27. From now on, Betfair Poker joins other rooms such as bwin or EuroPoker as part of skins supported by Ongame.

Since July 27 2010, Betfair Poker is part of the Ongame Network. This change means that all current Betfair Poker players are now part of the Ongame player pool.

There was a short downtime on the 27th of July, during which the migration was performed. Betfair Poker is now using a new software and you can find more information on that by clicking here.

What does it mean for you?

From the PokerStrategy.com perspective, all PokerStrategists playing at Betfair Poker are affected by this migration. But what exactly is the impact of such a decision?

• for PokerStrategists that have created a Betfair Poker account before July 12, their rakeback deals and promotions will still apply
• PokerStrategists that created a Betfair Poker account after July 12 are under the standard Ongame loyalty program, meaning that they will not get rakeback

Important: Betfair Poker players that have a rakeback deal will not have access to the loyalty features of the Betfair Players' Club. However, they have the option to opt out of the rakeback deal and become a club member.

Do I have to uninstall the old client and re-install the new client?

No. By executing your existing Betfair Poker software, the upgrade process will automatically activate. If you are new to Betfair Poker you can download the software from here.

What happens to my Betfair Poker alias?

If your current alias is free on Betfair Poker 2 you will not need to do anything, and your alias will remain the same. If, however, that alias is already in use you will need to choose a new alias or select from a number of suggested aliases before you can access Betfair Poker 2. You are prompted to do this automatically the first time you log into Betfair Poker 2.

Do I have to open a new account for Betfair Poker 2?

No. Your existing Betfair Poker account will allow you access to Betfair Poker 2. If an alias change is required, you will be prompted to do so the first time you launch Betfair Poker 2. If you are new to Betfair Poker you can download the software and register a new account from here.
