PokerStars VIP Status Requirements Slashed by 90% in August
You can earn your monthly VIP status 10 times faster in August with PokerStars' latest special offer. You'll earn more FPPs for the same amount of play, have access to more items in the VIP store and redeem FPPs for cash bonuses with greater value.
VIP Club Mega Month
This August on PokerStars, you can become SilverStar for just 75 VPPs (usually 750 VPPs), GoldStar for just 300 VVPs (usually 3,000 VPPs) and PlatinumStar for only 750 VPPs (usually 7,500 VPPs). This is just 10% of what is usually required! Here’s how the point requirements will be lowered during VIP Club Mega Month:

Create a PokerStars account through PokerStrategy.com and we'll give you an extra 100% up to $600:
During VIP Club Mega Month, not only will you receive more Frequent Player Points (FPPs) for the same amount of play, higher level VIPs also get access to more items in the VIP Store and can redeem their FPPs for bigger cash bonuses.
There's also a VIP Store sale so you can really make the most of this promotion.
Here are a couple of examples of how this promotion can benefit you:
| Example 1: A BronzeStar player earns 75 VPPs by August 16 and therefore becomes a SilverStar player until the end of September. This player earns a further 200 VPPs* in August and 300 VPPs in September. This player will receive an extra 250 FPPs for their play, because of the 1.5x multiplier on FPPs awarded to SilverStar players. * 200 VPPs can be earned by playing thirty-seven $10+1 tournaments. Example 2: A SilverStar player earns 750 VPPs by August 20 and therefore becomes a PlatinumStar player until the end of September. The player earns a further 250 VPPs in August and 1,000 VPPs* in September. This player will receive an additional 1,475 FPPs for their play, because of the FPP multipliers on GoldStar (2x) and PlatinumStar (2.5x) status. The player will also gain access to the $100,000 PlatinumStar freeroll in September. * 1,000 VPPs can be earned by playing approximately 2,000 hands of 6-Max $1/$2 No-Limit Hold’em. |
If you wish to maintain your VIP Club Mega Month status into October, you will need to earn the regular VPP requirements for monthly VIP levels in September.

In the two examples it suggests that VPP's are increased by your status multiplier. I thought that only your FPP's were multiplied and your VPP rate never increases? So in order for you to keep your status in October, you'd have to clear the full amount of required VPP's instead of a portion of VPP + multiplier bonus as suggested in the examples.

It's going to be fun people playing more tables and stuff just to reach platinium and get more FPP's.I will play at the same rate, at the same volume.
