Top 250 & Top 20 October: Entering the Final Week
Three weeks have passed since we started the Top 250 and Top 20 promotions for October. sgosgo and smidlo are still leading their respective rankings, but the winner is yet to be determined.
Starting this October, PokerStrategy.com will be introducing you to the
new Top 20 promotion besides our well-known Top 250 race. This new promotion runs for three
months, until December,
and culminates in a final tournament with an expected prize pool of at least $30,000.
Here, the payout structure will see the top 20
players of the English community grab a share of the total prize pool
of $2,000. The first place finisher will be awarded with $500.
The goal for both of these races is simple: the more you play, the more
StrategyPoints you get. The more StrategyPoints you have at the end of the month, the higher your prize will be.

Just like in the earlier promotion, if a player in our community happens to win prizes in both the Top 250 Promotion and this Top 20 Promotion, then he or she is only eligible to claim the higher of the two prizes. The lower prize will then be put into a global pot where everyone gets a shot at winning a piece of it.
Over $30,000 expected in the global pot
Instead of giving the prizes out in the form of a jackpot lottery draw, this time around, PokerStrategists who wish to grab a share of the global pot will have to pit their poker playing skills against one another. In January 2010, a $1 buy-in tournament with an added-on prize consisting of all the money in the global pot will be organized and it will be open to any member who has a tracked account. The exact time, date and poker room for this tournament is yet to be decided, so keep your eyes out for the announcement.
Below you can find the detailed prize pool structure:
