APT Offers Michael Phelps A Seat For Macau

The US American swim star and eight-time gold medal winner of Beijing, Michael Phelps, confided to a local newspaper that he would like to play at the World Series of Poker eventually. Already the APT offers a seat for Macau to the superstar.
In the USA he is the undisputed star of the Olympic Games. Michael Phelps, superstar of the American swimming team and with 14 gold medals the most successful Olympic athlete of all times. In the future, you might also see Phelps at one or two poker tables.
"I think it would be cool to play at the World Series of Poker", Phelps said in an interview with the Baltimore Sun. "My game is a bit rusty and I would need some preparation, but it would be a great event."
Now, the Asia Poker Tour (APT) wants to use the commitment to the poker sports for itself. After signing Doyle and Todd Brunson for the event in Macau, a seat for the tournament was now also offered to Phelps. If he will accept the invitation is rather questionable, but it is always promotionally effective.
The APT kicks off on August 27th in the Galaxy StarWorld Hotel and Casino Resort
in Macau. With $1.5M and $500,000 for the winner it offers the biggest guaranteed prize pool of all times for a poker tournament in Asia for now.
