Main Event Day 5 highlights
12 become 7 - A short second-to-last day in Melbourne as just five players were needed to bust to get to the seven handed final table tomorrow. Everyone coming back is guaranteed at least AUD$170,000, with a first prize of AUD$1,600,000.No Ivey or Nelson - All eyes were on two players going into day 5, former champion Lee Nelson, and greatest player in the world Phil Ivey. It was a very short day for Ivey, as he was the first one out of the door after returning with the shortest stack (A short enough day for him to buy into the $250,000 Challenge, more on that in a moment).
New Zealander Lee 'Final Table' Nelson almost lived up to his nickname, but fell short by one, bubbling the final table in 9th place, and pocketing AUD$125,000 for his efforts.
Bjorn Li leads the way - All of which has set up a final table of seven hopefuls who will be returning to the action in a few hours time. Bjorn Li is leading the way with over 4.7 million chips, but it is still a very close final seven chip wise, so there is still everything to play for.
