Big names added to Caesars Cup teams

The WSOPE Caesars Cup will now have even more star power as Patrik Antonius, Doyle Brunson, Ziigmund and Jennifer Harman have been added to the teams.

Team Captains Daniel Negreanu and Anette Obrestad have each made two new additions to their Caesars Cup teams. Doyle Brunson and Jennifer Harman are the new additions to Team Americas while Team Europe will now feature Patrik Antonius and Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies.

With these latest additions, six out of the eight spots on each team have already been named. Prior to this announcement, John Juanda, Phil Hellmuth and Phil Ivey were the first three picks for Team Americas while Betrand "Elky" Grospellier, Dario Minieri and Peter Eastgate were chosen for Team Europe.

Matches start on 26th September

The two teams will face off this 26th September during the World Series of Poker Europe in London. The tournament structure will feature a series of four consecutive doubles matches, with the winner of each match being awarded a single point. If the matches end in a tie, heads-up play will occur.

The first two doubles matches are to be played with one player playing pre-flop and on the turn, while the other makes the decisions on the flop and river. The next two matches then proceed to the second format where players will alternate after every two hands.

With less then 4 weeks left to the tournament, the remaining names for both teams should be announced very shortly. The winner of the leaderboard race on Betfair Poker will be awarded a spot on Team Europe.
