Boku87 Challenge: $2K In 2.5 Days
Our German PokerStrategist Thomas "boku" Boeckhoff has just started his third day of the "$100 to $10k" 15-day challenge and has already cracked the $2,000 bankroll mark.
As we reported earlier, the German PokerStrategist
Boku made a prop-bet with the poker community, claiming that he can turn $100 into $10,000 in just 15 days by playing nothing but SnGs. We are currently just halfway into the third day and according to the last update he has already recorded a profit of over $2,000.As you may have read here, Boku's challenge took off 2 days ago. The conditions were set at the start:
- The challenge lasts 15 days (360 hours), starting with the 3rd of March 01:00 PM CET. This means that it will last until the 18th of March 12:59 PM CET.
- He will only play SnGs with a buy-in ranging from $1 to $16 and nothing higher.
- He wins the challenge when he has a $9,900 profit (rakeback and bonuses do not count). He loses the challenge if he goes broke in the process - no reloads are available.
- He has taken somewhere around $30,000 in action.
Since then it has been a steady climb. He finished his first day after having played a total of 557 SNGs on the $1-$3 limits with a profit of $323. The next day he jumped right into the $3-$6 SNGs and after having played a total of 484 SNGs he closed off the day with a bankroll of $1,153.95. Now - just halfway into the third day he has already managed to break the $2,000 BRM for the first time. How has he done it? On the one hand by consistently playing anywhere between 30 to 53 tables at the same time with an average ROI of around 20% - and on the other hand by sticking to solid bankroll management the entire time.

Boku's profit after 2.5 days of play
While he started out as Fixed Limit player in 2006, his will to multitable as many table as possible eventually made him switch to SNGs. Since then he has continouly impressed his fans with extensive mult-table sessions & challenges to himself.
Do you think he can make it? The challenge has reached its third day, by the way, so join us in the forums to discuss about our PokerStrategist's endeavour: boku's propbet: $100 into 10k in 15 days.
We wish him the best of luck and we will keep you updated on this subject.

kbtrflop, 06 Mar 09 12:10
oh w8. I think I noticed it in his rules. max his 30k for 90k profit based on his 1:3 odds.So he can win 90k maximum from propbets in 15 days If I am correct?

kbtrflop, 06 Mar 09 12:13
Does anyone know/use a 'winning' strategy to play for example 10 of these turbo sng's at once?AK+ & QQ+ preflop all in and folding the rest or something?
I can't imagine playing 30-50 sng's simultaneously with 'normal' postflop play....
#25
SoyCD, 06 Mar 09 12:19
@24: He plays very tight early on and starts pushing very aggressively in the late phases. He therefore plays mostly push/fold poker without much postflop play#26
kbtrflop, 06 Mar 09 12:21
omfg. i just watched a short clip on youtube.... this is insane... I am getting sick just watching HIM play... I cou;dn't imagine doing this myslef with a +ROI % even if i would play HALF of those tables....#27
CoreySteel, 06 Mar 09 14:26
No, he can win "only" 35k.He got 35k action against other little less than 12k.
His 35k (3) : others 11,6k (1)
3:1
+ of course his profit.
#28
118Hither, 06 Mar 09 14:37
how many tables at any one time?#29
realmnaco, 06 Mar 09 14:51
@27: odds are 3:1 for him ---> his 30k on 90k from others ;)#30
SoyCD, 06 Mar 09 15:09
@29: But he didnt get 90k in action against him - only 30k#31
CoreySteel, 06 Mar 09 17:50
#29 realmnaco: Bah, I made a mistake in my comment. He invested 11,6k and he got 35k action against. So his 11,6k vs 35k action.
#28 118Hither: Up to +50.

I just had to point out how insane this seems. I did the math, 1200 games in 60 hours is 20 new games per hour, on average EVERY HOUR.#33
Mistyboyo, 07 Mar 09 12:46
Impressive, no matter how crazy this seems to be, as far as he believes in this challenge ang goes for it with full effort.....he should be successful.Thumbs up BOKU :D
