Chip Reese is dead

David Edward "Chip" Reese died on Tuesday at the age of 56 in Las Vegas.
According to the homepage of his High School class Chip
Reese died as a result of pneumonia.
Chip Reese grew up in Ohio, went to the Dartmouth College and came to Las Vegas in the seventies. He became one of the best poker players of all time. For years he played in the Big Game in the Bellagio (Mixed Game with limits up to
$4.000/8.000). His opponents and friends like Doyle Brunson called Chip Reese one of the best allround-poker player.
"Chip was a really good friend, he helped a lot of people", said T.J.
Cloutier yesterday at the WPT Bootcamp (take a look at this video). "I never heard him say a bad thing about anybody." Cloutier called him "the greatest poker player that ever lived."
In 1991 at the age of 40 Chip Reese was admitted into the Poker Hall of Fame.
2006 Chip Reese won the first $50.000 H.O.R.S.E Event of the WSOP. His heads-up against Andy Bloch lasted seven hours and was the longest in the history of the WSOP. He won additional bracelets in 1978 ($1.000 Seven Card Stud Split) and 1982 ($5.000 Limit 7 Card Stud).
