Colorado Follows Pennsylvania's Lead

Pennsylvania has already ruled poker to be a game in which skill overcomes luck and now Colorado is following the same lead.

USAThe growing need to silence the question whether poker is a game of luck or not is burning across the United States of America. Pennsylvania has already ruled poker to be a game in which skill overcomes luck and now Colorado is following the same lead.

Kevin P. Raley, the founder of a local poker league who was arrested last August, has been found not guilty for illegal gambling. One of the key witnesses during this trial was Robert Hannum, Professor of Statistics at the University of Denver. It was his testimony which showed an extensive amount of evidence that poker is indeed a game of skill.
Ppa wins another battle
PPAThe Poker Players Alliance provided an immense support in this case as it payed for the Hannum's appearance on the trial as well as providing the case attorney with many research documents.

Gary Reed, the PPA's State Director for Colorado, commented this case in a press release on Monday:
"The PPA is pleased with the outcome of this case. It is further
confirmation that poker is indeed a game of skill, not chance. At the same time, the not guilty verdict cements the rights of Colorado citizens to enjoy the American pastime of poker and will allow law enforcement to use its scarce resources to investigate real unlawful activity in the state, not poker games."

As both Pennsylvania and Colorado have ruled poker to be a game of skill only near future will tell if the Kentucky case will end in the same way or not. With two victories in pocket we can only quote what John Pappas, executive director of the PPA, said: "The momentum continues in our favor, and the PPA will continue to champion such causes in other states as well as at the national level."
