FTP debtors: Greenstein responds
Several news items surrounding Full Tilt Poker's impending deal with Groupe Bernard Tapie have broken this week, with some high profile players being 'outed' by GBT attorney Behn Dayanim as having large unpaid debts to the company.Players Phil Ivey, Layne Flack, David Benyamine, Erick Lindgren, Barry Greenstein and Mike Matusow are all reported as having substantial debts to FTP which "could put the deal in serious jeopardy" according to Dayanim.
Read our exclusive news on the unpaid player debt here.
Meanwhile poker pro Barry Greenstein responded to the GBT debt allegations, admitting that he did indeed owe money to FTP and explained his rationale behind not having settled his score.
For a full overview of Greenstein's response, read our story here.
We'll bring you updates on the FTP/GBT saga as they come in.

Seidel still #1
The latest Global Poker Index rankings were released this week, and unsurprisingly it's still Erik Seidel who sits on top of the leaderboard. The top ten list is largely unchanged, although strangely Jonathan Duhamel, arguably January's most consistent player has dropped out of the top ten.
This anomaly is due to the GPI's calculation process; Duhamel's electric January will be accounted within period 3 of the season, so you can expect to see him climb into the top ten very soon.

Chad's slap on the wrist
ESPN poker commentator and funny man Norman Chad was given a stern talking to following breaking court rules in Los Angeles whilst on jury service last month.Chad broadcast several Tweets from within the court house, such as:
"To allow me to live-tweet during the trial, I am hiding my iPhone in my left sock (where Bill Belichick keeps his red challenge flag)."
The WSOP front man was wamboozled by Judge Laura Foland Priver after ignoring the court's warning that discussing the case or using a mobile device in the courtroom was prohibited.
Judge Priver labelled Chad as making "a mockery of our system". Fortunately despite his backfiring gags, he was given a warning rather than a harsher penalty.

High stakes corner
The past 24 hours in the world of high stakes has been fairly quiet, much owing to some technical problems at PokerStars yesterday.Nevertheless, 3 players managed to break the $50,000 barrier, with new account "patpatman" continuing where he left off in January while Ben "milkybarkid" Grundy and Ben "Ben86" Tollerene also fared well.
"AlexKP" had a day to forget, having dropped a painful $126, 543 according to HighStakesDB.
Macau Millions cancelled
PokerStars Macau announced yesterday that the 2012 Macau Millions tournament has been cancelled indefinitely."Our current agreement to operate PokerStars Macau events and tournaments at Casino Grand Lisboa will expire in March." said Danny McDonagh in a statement.
"As a result, the Macau Millions will be postponed for a later date."
Daily Signoff
Today's signoff features a fairly nasty slow-roll from Brazilian Hilton Laborda in last year's WSOP Main Event. This week's bad boy Norman Chad provides the ever-witty commentary.

MJPerry, 03 Feb 12 19:12
He took 22 seconds to call with the nuts. As rolls go, that's on the slow side ;)#5

thats a terrible slowroll and is super bad ettiquette.#6
jozata, 03 Feb 12 21:15
It was more like 15secs amd it wasn't that bad of a slowroll in my opinion. I guess he just couldn't believe his luck to have the nuts and sb to move all in on him#7
Alficor1, 03 Feb 12 21:47
#6 Lol thats a really stupid excuse/explanation. It would be ok if he just double checked his cards and board and called. But to just stare at the guy for that long and then to call is so bad.#8

I agree slowrolling is bad poker ettiquette, full stop.My self after watching vid with the great commentary of Norman & Lon didn't think it was to long from what I have seen others do.Even when someone has the nuts & they are being raised/all in,is there anything wrong with taking a little time considering what there play means!!!!Like I siad earlier slowrolling is not on.#9

I can definitely see Greenstein's side but lets say FTP goes under will he pool his money with other the other debts to pay back players? My guess would be no chance at all. Win win for the pros :( and lose lose for the community.
