"Sports betting requires more skill than poker"
An article on Covers.com caused some debate on poker forums when legendary sports bettor Billy Walters, who has supposedly made eight figures annually from betting sports, stated that it is a more skilful form of gambling than poker."I used to be a professional poker player,” Walters said, “and, they’re right, if you’re a good poker player, it’s a game of skill... sports betting is much more of a game of skill than poker. I’m living proof that betting sports is a game of skill. I’ve won 37 years in a row."
Betfair to host charity event for Thor Hansen

The poker community reacted with shock and sadness, now Betfair Poker will be hosting a charity tournament to benefit the Thor Hansen Fund. The tournament will be an $11 rebuy with $10 from every buy-in being donated towards the cost of Hansen's medical bills. Betfair will double the money raised up to $2,500. The winner of the event will receive a $1,400 Betfair Poker Live package.

imo the bluff was very sick, only failed because the guy with trips was a donkey#2
datsmahname, 09 Feb 12 18:54

I wouldn't use all the same terms but it seems like you've got the answer.

The hand title should be more like "Two huge spewtards played a hand"#7
Alficor1, 09 Feb 12 20:40
Oh and Billy Walters is a gigantic ass#8
MJPerry, 09 Feb 12 20:54
I find it weird that Blom check-raised so huge on the flop.#9
andiperusko, 09 Feb 12 21:53
This was very bad play of Isildur.#10
Alficor1, 09 Feb 12 23:18
Esp when that donk 3bets the flop Isildur has to know that there's no way he's ever folding to a shove..#11
i5bet72o, 10 Feb 12 07:25
was the flop 3bet by Munns a string bet?#12
chenny8888, 10 Feb 12 08:28
no idea what Munns was doing, no idea what Blom was doing, heheh#13
Phoenix2104, 10 Feb 12 08:41
Whenever a pro makes a stupidly marginal call, it's a "great read". Whenever an amateur makes the same call, he's a "donk".Personally I always have a good lough whenever some "big shot" thinks he can win just about every pot and then some guy exposes him!

Munns was raising the flop knowing it would often induce a bluffshove from Blom, he knew it was a nice line to get a whole stack from Blom's likely air-type of holding. If Munns just called the flop, Blom would probably go for a c/f on the turn (haha! he would, really!)#15
Toothless32, 10 Feb 12 12:22
I think he would snapcall then,
