Stuck in the Middy with you: Middleton crushes Event 2
It was a case of clowns to the left and jokers to the right for Tom "hitthehole" Middleton last night as he romped to victory in the second event of the 2012 Aussie Millions. The six handed event attracted a field of 385 players and the British MTT specialist was last man standing when his two pair bested the open ended straight draw of Joel Dodds to give him the title and a payday of AUD$84,200.
Two more side events sit between today and the start of Sunday's $10,000 Main Event.

TCOOP day one
The inaugural TCOOP kicked off yesterday over at PokerStars and as expected, huge numbers bought in and anteed up for the opening day of the series.Event 1 ($22 NL 6-max) saw Canadian "88Xin88" bank $67,903.56 after a four way chop. Not bad for a $22 investment!
The other big winner of the day was Uruguyan player "SixthSenSe19" who navigated his way through a field of 5561 players to ship Event 3 ($134 NL KO ) for $86,993.63.
Today sees four more TCOOP events - good luck to all PokerStrategists taking part!
Dwan-watch: is durrrr on his way to Melbourne?
Pokerjolt today claims that high stakes superstar Tom "durrrr" Dwan could well be on his way to the Aussie Millions.Dwan's girlfriend has been tweeting pictures of the couple doing some sightseeing Down Under, and there's plenty of reasons for Dwan to add the Crown Casino in Melbourne to his itinerary.
If reports from Macau are true, Gus Hansen will be in Melbourne with nearly $4 million burning a hole in his pockets, money that Dwan will be keen to relieve from his old adversary...

2011: Trickett's year
2011 was kind to Sam Trickett. The British high stakes pro burst onto the global poker radar this time last year having won the Aussie Millions High Roller and placing 2nd in the Super High Roller just a few days later. Not satisfied with winning AUD$3 million in Australia, Trickett went on to win the Partouche Poker Main Event for €1 million later on in the year, and if reports are true, Trickett has padded his bankroll comfortably in the big Macau cash games.
Here WPT Magazine catches up with the man in form who opens up about his incredible run.
High stakes corner
Yesterday we saw some rare high stakes online Hold'em running over at PokerStars, where "ragen70" and "Berndsen12" locked horns in a fascinating battle. When the dust had settled it was "ragen70" who emerged victorious for a shade over $200,000, according to HSDB.
Meanwhile Patrik "Fake Love888" Antonius continued his excellent January with a tidy $77,803 winning day at the PLO tables.
Daily Signoff
Today with news of Tom Dwan potentially on his way to the Aussie Millions, we marvel at this hand between himself and Phil Ivey. It's alleged that Ivey tanked for a full fifteen minutes debating a call on the river!
