EPT Awards For Season 4

On September 9th – one day before the kick-off of the fifth season of the 'PokerStars European Poker Tour' in Barcelona – PokerStars will award prizes to the best players of the previous season in the Opium Mar.

Five categories serve as evaluation criteria for the best players of the PokerStars EPT Season 4: Best Newcomer, Best Performance, Best Overseas Player, Best PokerStars Qualifier and Player of the Year. A jury consisting of Lee Jones, John Duthie, Victoria Coren and John Caldwell, will decide over the awarding.

With Johannes Strassman and Jan Heitman, Germany is nominated twice for the most important award. The two PokerStars shooting stars are potential Players of the Year. With Luca Pagano, Trond Erik Eidsvig and Thierry Van der Berg they have considerable competition though.

The Canadian Mike McDonald – Winner of the EPT Dortmund – was even suggested for four categories: Best Newcomer, Best Performance, Best Overseas Player and Best PokerStars Qualifier. In the category Best Overseas Players he will have to face the US American Tim Vance amongst others, who raised tempers at the EPT Copenhague with his exceedingly extroverted manner.

Annette Obrestad (Best Newcomer) as well as Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier and Julian Thew (both Best Performance) are also on course for an award.

Two further awards will be given away: Chosen journalists designate the winner of the category Poker Writers Award. In People's Choice you are able to decide over your personal favourite of the season. The vote for this can be found here. There you can also vote for our coach Florian 'Morgoth' Langmann who finished second at the EPT London amongst other things.
