EPT Copenhagen: Weisner Leads 72 into Day 3

Weisner made her move on Day 2 and took over the chip lead. She sits on over 230 big blinds and is 30 clear of second placed Simon Ravnsbæk. With 9 tables still in play, things are set to get interesting as both leaders have been drawn together for Day 3.

to stack all those chips
131 started Day 2 of the European Poker Tour Copenhagen Main Event and over half of them made it into Day 3 to hang on to a shot at the DKK 2,515,000 (approx. €338,000) first prize. Of the 72 left, 48 will make the money to earn at least DKK 55,000.

While Weisner leads the field of 72, a strong cast remains with the likes of Team PokerStars Pros Johnny Lodden, Luca Pagano and Martin Staszko all itching to spoil her party along with defending champion Michael Tureniec who is looking for two in a row.

What happened on Day 2?

Melanie Weisner leads Day 2  - Weisner was on top of her game on Day 2 and rightfully claimed the throne for the day with an impressive performance. "This day was just about me owning everyone at my table" said Weisner of her feat.

Day 3 Table Draw  - With 9 tables left there are no truly soft tables, but the top two stacks of Weisner and Ravnsbæk were unfortunate to be drawn into the same one. WSOP Main Event Runner Up Martin Staszko will have to deal with Johnny Lodden while Michael Tureniec looks comfortable with twice the stack of the rest of his table.

Day 2 Casualties?  - Arnaud Mattern and Theo Jorgensen were the two big names who hit the felt, while Pokerstrategist Vojtech ' VojtaR' Ruzicka also did not manage to extend his recent good form into this event.

Day 3 will begin today at 12:00 CET.
