EPT Deauville Down to 54 Players

On Day 3 of the EPT Deauville, the field has been reduced to 54 players, all of whom are guaranteed to take home at least €15,000. The remaining players include Italian PokerStrategy.com coach Sergio "geniodelletartarughe" Castelluccio and Team PokerStars Pro Luca Pagano.

The third day of play at the PokerStars EPT Deauville began with 178 players and burst through the money bubble fairly early in the day. 128 players made the money and earned at least €7,500 for that achievement, but the 54 players that still remain in the field have a shot at winning a much more impressive €875,000 first-place prize.

Highlights from Day 3

A clear leader has emerged - Until now the top of the leaderboard of this tournament has been fairly tight, with several players constantly fighting for the overall chip lead. By the end of Day 3, Sam Phomveha emerged from the pack with 1,471,000 chips, somewhat significantly more than Olivier Rogez's 1,098,500 in second place. Phomveha has had moderate live success in his career, but according to PokerStars he is a Supernova Elite online pro.

Adeniya and Pagano still comfortable - Martins Adeniya and Team PokerStars Pro Luca Pagano are likely the two best-known players of the remaining field, and each of them will enter Day 4 with a comfortable stack. Adeniya is in 5th place with 893,000 chips, and Pagano is in 36th with 344,000. With blinds at 5,000/10,000/1,000, even Pagano still has plenty of chips to work with.

PokerStrategy.com coach above average - Sergio " geniodelletartarughe" Castelluccio is an Italian coach at PokerStrategy.com, and he is currently in 19th place with 613,000 chips. Good luck Sergio!

Day 4 will begin at 12:00 CET on Saturday, and the field is anticipated to get down to 24 players.
