309 participants filled up the tables in the Victoria Casino on Day 1B of the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) London. Amongst the starters were also some PokerStrategists again.

The EPT a guest in LondonAlmost 600 participants proved that the poker boom is far from over in the fifth EPT season. The previous record number of participants for the EPT London of 398 starters in the third season was now literally pulverised. The prize pool of about 3 million Pound Sterling will also provide for another superlative.

Pros Pros Pros
ElkyCountless pros turned the poker room into a shark pool yet again. Team PokerStars Pro itself was again represented by 13 players and thus proved that they are not superstitious. However, it unfortunately didn't really help Katja Thater. She had to join the rails along with her team mates Greg Raymer, Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier, Dario Minieri, Joe Hachem, Chris Moneymaker, Hevad Khan and Noah Boeken even before the end of the day.

The high star density was also noticeable outside the Team PokerStars. Or to phrase it differently: You have to break an egg to make an omelet. Thus, Phil Ivey, Chino Rheem, Mike McDonald, Antonio Esfandiari and David Ulliott amongst others were eliminated before the last level was finished.

Florian And Sebastian eliminated

EPT Barcelona winner Sebastian Ruthenberg – as well as Florian 'Morgoth' Langmann – had to leave his table early. Sebastian ran into pocket aces for Julian Thew with his A-K and ran out of luck.

Boris BeckerGermany's probably most famous poker face – tennis legend and PokerStars advertiser Boris Becker – meanwhile entered his second EPT, but almost expectedly left again empty-handed. The second PokerStars.de Shooting Star in the field, Johannes Strassmann, is a bit better off. With about 35,000 chips he secured his entry into Day 2.

Besides Florian, other community members tried their luck, namely Benjamin 'Adamkosh' Mirsaidi, Fredrik 'FiSheYe' Keitel and Benjamin 'psychobenny' Spindler. However, we currently have no further information about their whereabouts.

Today Day 2
After a heated day, roughly 85 players remained from Day 1B. Thus together with the survivors of Day 1A, about 160 players will start into Day 2 today. When the official chip counts and numbers of participants are available, we will update you with further information.
