EPT Vienna Day 1A: Nazgul and BongBob Survive Day1A

On Day 1A of the PokerStars EPT Vienna Main Event, the two Team PokerStrategy.com players BongBob and Nazgul joined the race and successfully completed the first tournament day. BongBob currently ranks 93rd in the chip counts, while Nazgul made it to rank 33.

After six years, the PokerStars EPT has returned to Vienna and 234 players took part in Day 1A of the €5,300 Main Event. Among them were Team PokerStrategy.com players BongBob and Nazgul, who are still in the race after the first tournament day.

Over the course of the tournament, Nazgul already managed to take down a big pot with A-A against another player's all in with 6-7, doubling his chip stack. At the end of the tournament day, the same two players were set to face each other again, with blinds of 500/1000 and an ante of 100.

Nazgul raised with from the cut-off and the other player called him from the button. Nazgul bet the flop, which was followed by a raise and a call. The turn brings the - the perfect card for Nazgul to semi-bluff. He checked and the opponent put 8,000 in the pot. Nazgul pushed all in, the opponent instantly folded his hand and Nazgul won the large pot without having to go to the showdown.

Nazgul still couldn't resist to reveal his successful semi-bluff to his opponent. At the end of the day, Nazgul's chip stack went up to 73,600.

BongBob finished the day with 31,200 chips so both Team PokerStrategy players will continue the tournament on Day 2 of the Main Event with blinds of 600/1200 and an ante of 100. After Day 1A, a total of 117 players will return to the tables to play Day 2 of the Main Event.
