ESPN Inside Deal With Dennis Phillips
Dennis Phillips was the guest of the second ESPN "Inside Deal" episode. With a variety of subjects covered in the show, Phillips gave his thoughts on many recent as well as upcoming events.
The second episode of the ESPN poker show "Inside Deal" featured a member of 2008 WSOP November Nine Dennis Phillips (pictured right) sharing his thoughts on many subjects, ranging from the recent legislation introduced by Senator Robert Menendez to some more trivial subjects such as the most expensive thing he bought with the money he has won thus far in poker - with Phillips' answer being a dairy cow.
However, Phillips is not only humble when it comes to spending money, as he also gives the money to charity and participates in charity tournaments across the globe. These tournaments often attract celebrities and Phillips particularly praised Nelly for his poker skills, as the famous rapper has taken part in many poker tournaments this year.
Phillips also commented the upcoming World Team Poker league and expressed optimism towards the whole project despite many hurdles ahead of it. He shares the same optimism towards the two internet gambling bills, as he believes there will be a compromise between the two. While Phillips was certainly the highlight of the show, there were several more notable appearances.
Pollack offers a solution to "Day 1D problem"
The Inside Deal had its first telephone interview, as Jeffrey Pollack answered questions related to this year's WSOP, including the problems which occurred on Day 1D of the Main Event. Pollack revealed a potential solution to the problem:"I think we're going to allow players to select their start datefor the Main Event until a certain point. After that, we're going to select their start date so the days are properly balanced."
An interview with Dan Harrington just after his elimination from the WSOP Champions Invitational was also aired, along with a variety of other news from the poker world. The next ESPN episode is coming up on Tuesday with the hosts having one wish - that their next featured guest will know a trick or two with chips as both Dennis Phillips and Chris Moneymaker go as far as shuffling chips when it comes to doing tricks.
