European Poker Awards 2009: The Results

The 9th annual edition of the European Poker Awards took place a few days ago. Many well-known names found themselves on the winners' list, so read on to see who got their hands on these trophies.

The European Poker Awards ceremony came to an end last weekend, at the Aviation Club in Paris.

Europe's best players in 2009 were acknowledged in this ceremony. Russian pro Vitaly Lunkin was the one to take home the "Player of the Year" trophy.

A great year for Vitaly Lunkin

Lunkin (pictured right) managed to cash six times in the 2009 World Series of Poker, amassing a total of $2,743,411 in tournament winnings.

His most notable achievement last year came when he won the WSOP $40,000 Anniversary event for a $1,891,012 payout.

Other well-known poker pros were also rewarded, including the likes of Patrik Antonius, Sandra Naujoks or Jeff Lisandro.
