FTOPS IX: 'dubbeemin' Wins Main Event

Almost 5,000 players came together for the $500 Main Event of the ninth 'Full Tilt Online Poker Series' (FTOPS). 'dubbeemin' won the event and received $432,400.

The 4,880 participants weren't able to generate the guaranteed prize pool of $2.5M. 648 places were paid out. At least $725 were paid for an in the money place. On the final table it was clearly better: Rank 9 already received $32,500.

Prominent Bustouts before the Final Table

Some prominent players stumbled right before the finale: Faraz 'The-Toilet0' Jaka finished on rank 10 and thus become the final table bubble boy. Only one place before him, Lee 'acumen53' Childs got eliminated. $23,750 were paid for ranks 10 and 11.

Kelly Kim finished the tournament on rank 16 and was thus the best Full Tilt Pro of the tourney. Kim belongs to the "November Nine" and will play for the most prestigious poker title of the world at the final table of the WSOP. With this placement in the Main Event of the FTOPS he proved his tournament skills.

Besides Kim, the Full Tilt Pros Lynette Chan (Rank 264), David Bradley (Rank 340), David Benyamine (Rank 555) and Keith Sexton (Rank 612) reached the in the money ranks.

Final Table

'dubbeemin' came to the final table as one of four big stacks and already eliminated 'TiltinShoes' early on with two pocket aces against . Afterwards, 'dubbeemin' extended his stack continuously. With three remaining players at the table he had more than half of the ships. After the elimination of 'TheTotalPkg' he went as a clear chip leader into the heads-up.

Heads-up

'dubbeemin' had almost 19M chips compared to 'valleyho' with 5.5M. There was not much 'valleyho' was able to do against the big stack and he quickly had to content himself with rank 2 – his consolation prize was $262,500.

For 'dubbeemin' it was already the second FTOPS cash. In the $200 Pot-Limit Omaha Event of the FTOPS IV he finished fifth.
