FTOPS X: Final Spurt Until Sunday

The tenth edition of the FTOPS is in full swing, and a few PokerStrategists were already able to celebrate successes. On Sunday, the concluding Main Event begins. However, there are still a few interesting events to be played until then.

The Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) began quite successfully for some PokerStrategists. mTw-Davin immediately won the first event, and visarinho, justCrazy and torsk278 also had some nice finishes. Now, we will tell you a bit more about the past events, and give you an outlook on the next events.

The Team Full Tilt Pros at the FTOPS

In each tournament, a few Team Full Tilt Pros can be found at the tables besides the host. However, none of them has achieved a win so far. Final table appearances were only made by Gary Jones, Aaron Bartley, Brian Hastings, Ram Vaswani and David Pham.

Cliff 'JohnnyBax' Josephy was rather short-stacked when he joined the final table of Event #15, a $200 + $16 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi/Low one, for which 1,025 players had signed up and generated a total prize pool of $205,000. Nonetheless, he managed a nice comeback, and even survived pro Ram Vaswani who finished fourth. At the end of the day, Josephy increased his bankroll by $46,125 with his win.

Event #16, a $300 + $22 No-Limit Hold'em 6-max w/ rebuys tournament, was won by 'frankly perfect', earning him $235,625.85. In the heads-up he defeated the Austrian Jonathan ''xMONSTERxDONGx' Karamalikis, after kicking David 'The Dragon' Pham (picture on the right) out on third place.


Record Tournaments so far

Overall, the FTOPS enjoys a lot of popularity. A few events had overlays, but many prize monies were increased in others.

The most players could be found in Event #9 so far, a $300 + $22 No-Limit Hold'em tournament hosted by Howard Lederer (picture on the right) and with a guaranteed prize pool of $1,500,000. 5,370 participants made sure that it was increased by another $111,000, generating a total prize pool of $1,611,000. The event was won by Casey 'bigdogpckt5s' Jarzabek, who received $277,929.72 for this feat.

The biggest cash so far went to the US American Nick 'agriffrod' Mitchell, who won Event #11, a $1,000 + $60 No-Limit Hold'em tourney.  For his win he received $322,500.

These numbers will certainly be topped, however, when the Main Event kicks off on Sunday with a guaranteed prize pool of $2,500,000.
