Foxwoods WPT: Days 2, 3 and 4

The Foxwoods World Poker Tour is getting closer to the final round, as there are only 10 players left battling for the first prize of $1,120,310. Here is the weekend retrospective containing Day 2, 3 and 4 recaps.
The World Poker Tour at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket,
Connecticut
kicked off on November 5, gathering a little over 400 people in the
first two playdays. After 3 days we are left with 10 players, as Day 5
will decide the final six to get a seat in the televised WPT final
table.
We previously reported here
that Jason Potter and Phil Ivey were the Day 1a and 1b chip leaders. As
usual, being in the lead means little at this point and this was once
again proven, neither of them made it into day 3. The player to lead the Day 2 rankings was Jonathan Jaffe, who managed to
get 522,000 in chips - 150,000 more than the second-place finisher,
Larry Greenberg. The top 5 list was completed by Arthur Azen (350,000),
Adam Lippert (338,200) and Charles Marchese (322,700).
Day
3 started with 91 players, but thanks to the loose aggressive action there, 60 of
them left the competition before the beginning of Day 4. Among the ones
who got eliminated, we could see the likes of Victor Ramdin (past
Foxwoods winner), Toto Leondias, Allen Kessler, Anna Wroblewski,
Michael Bingerand and Erik Seidel. Jonathan Jaffe, the Day 2 chip
leader, remained on top, doubling his stack by the end of the day
to 1,100,000 chips. However, he was closely followed by Mike "The Mouth" Matusow, who had an impressive run and ranked second with
1,075,500 in chips. They were followed by Tom Nguyen (870,000), Carl
Restifo (720,000) and Ron Kirsh (681,000).
On day 4 Jonathan
Jaffe slowed down a bit, switching places with Mike Matusow: Jaffe now
is second place, with 1,780,000 in chips, while Matusow has the first
place and 1,857,000 chips. Currently third is
Jack Schanbacher (1,600,000), while the WPT Season VI Player of the
Year, Jonathan "Fiery Justice" Little (1,407,000) is ranked fourth. Anthony Newman
(1,391,000) is the one that ends the top 5. On a side note, Mike Matusow
and David "The Dragon" Pham (6th place with 1,242,000) are the only players left in
the competition that managed to make multiple WPT tables without
actually winning one. Here are the seats and chip count for Day 5:Foxwoods WPT Day 5 |
