Google Advertises For Online Casinos Again
Google will start advertising for online casinos again in the United Kingdom on its own advertising platform Adwords, shortly after Yahoo and MSN made the same decision.
In mid 2007, every big online advertising platform pulled out of the campaigns for online casinos, as fines amounting into the millions were issued in the course of the Unlawful Internet Gambling
Enforcement Act (UIGEA).
About a month ago, Yahoo UK first took the online casinos back into its advertising pool again, shortly followed by MSN UK. In the fiercely contested market of the advertising millions, Google could hardly stand in line. Thus, the three big campaign platforms advertise for online casinos again, at least in the United Kingdom.
However, the offer is limited to companies which are licensed by the British Gaming Commission, or which have an advertising licence in another state of the European Economic Area, and it is only offered in England, Wales and Scotland. To what extent further liberal markets will be opened up in the future, like for instance Macau, is currently not known so far.
