High Stakes June Ranking: durrrr Earns Over $2 Million Again!

Tom "durrrr" Dwan made a profit of over $2 million in June, thus repeating his success from May. Meanwhile, Gus Hansen still hasn't moved from the losers' list, finding himself on it for the third month in a row.

Tom DwanMay was a great month for Tom "durrrr" Dwan (pictured right), as he made a profit of $2,143,952.92 across 19,743 hands in 211 sessions. However, his success in June will really puzzle your mind, as he made a profit of $2,143,847.48 across 13,667 hands in 133 sessions.

It needn't be said that he took the first spot on the winners' list once again and with a nearly identical profit, it only leaves room for wondering how does he do it? Dwan spent most of the June playing PLO in which he earned over $2.2 million. Not even Patrik Antonius could stop Dwan, as he lost the lead in the durrrr Challenge and is now over $700,000 behind Dwan after a total of 20,647 hands played in the challenge.

Di "Urindanger" Dang is second on the winners' list and just like Dwan, most of his profits came from PLO, though he earned "only" $531,881 there. Urindanger's overall profit for June is a shy $619,861, earned across 10,153 hands in 101 sessions.

The third place went to Phil Ivey who is back on track after a nearly $1 million fall in May. It took him only 40 sessions and 3,066 hands to earn $525,595, which doesn't make him the most active player of the month, but it certainly shows how lethal he can be even when he doesn't play that much.

the hansen ship keeps on sinking
Gus HansenYesterday's winners are...today's winners, at least in Dwan's case. As for the rest of the poker players, not every month brings a bright spark into their lives.

Gus Hansen (pictured left) has become a regular on the losers' list, as he found his place amongst the top 10 losers of both April and May. The Great Dane continued his losing streak in June and unless he changes something, a spot on the losers' list of July might as well be reserved for him.

After 10,957 hands played across 191 sessions in June, Hansen has fallen down by nearly $1.3 million. Most of his money went down the drain at the Omaha tables and the only profitable game for him proved to be H.O.R.S.E., which was also visible in this year's WSOP, as he finished 9th in the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. Event #49.

The 2nd place went to Bomberman who lost $988,503 across 2,695 hands in 28 sessions. Sami "LarsLuzak" Kelopuro also found himself on the losers' list, as he went down by $405,382, mostly in PLO and Mixed HA games.

Meanwhile, Patrik Antonius lost over $1 million in PLO, but he also managed to earn $1.3 million in Mixed HA games. This saved him from what could've been one of the worst months in this year for him, since he had a devastating swing in the durrrr Challenge, in which he lost a nearly $500,000 lead over Dwan.

laliberte preparing for the space
Guy LaliberteThe online high stakes tables are missing one of the most charismatic players in the poker world - Guy Laliberte (pictured right), the founder of billion dollar entertainment company Cirque du Soleil. Laliberte seems to have disappeared from the online poker world and withdrawn all of his money which was estimated to be around $10 million.

Laliberte played very well during his appearance on GSN's High Stakes Poker Season IV and he also cashed $696,220 for the 4th place finish at the WPT Bellagio. However, he has not seen the same success as a high stakes online player and the reasons behind his departure remain unknown.

It is worth mentioning that Laliberte is preparing at Russia's Star City space training center for his space mission, which could explain why he is not present at the online tables. Laliberte paid $35 million for this trip to space and if everything goes in order, he is set to travel to space on September 30.
