High Stakes Poker: Minieri's Flawless Timing

Dario Minieri did not perhaps win a massive pot in the latest episode of High Stakes Poker, but his timing and decisions were very good - so good, that Daniel Negreanu couldn't hide his frustrations.

The fourth episode of GSN's High Stakes Poker Season 6 saw Gus Hansen making his return to the table. The players loosened up a bit, and we could see them joining the action with all sorts of hands.

Bluffs were flying all over the table throughout this episode and unlike the previous one, in which Hansen executed an ill-timed bluff against Eli Elezra, this time most of the bluffs got through.

Minieri's play frustrates Negreanu

Phil Ivey took down a multiway pot with 7-2o, but didn't show it to the rest of the table. Meanwhile, Tom "durrrr" Dwan was making his usual bluffs, but the man who took the spotlight was Dario Minieri (pictured right).

Minieri was on top of his game in the latest episode. First, he detected weakness in Hansen's re-raise preflop which resulted in the Italian shoving his entire stack to scare away the Great Dane.

His show then continued when Daniel Negreanu noticed this shove and tried to get Minieri to do it again, but Negreanu's pocket rockets and a carefully laid trap failed to deliver Minieri's stack. This frustrated Negreanu to such extent that he openly admitted getting no action from the table whenever he held pocket aces thus far.

Minieri was seen in several more interesting pots, including another preflop battle, this time against Antonio Esfandiari. The Magician seems to have loosened up a bit, as he managed to out-bluff Minieri, even though neither of them had a legitimate hand.
