High Stakes Poker Season 5 To Be Taped In December
The High Stakes Poker TV show is set to start filming for its fifth season in December, with the Golden Nugget hosting the new season taping between the 19th and 21st of December.
The High Stakes Poker Season 5 will kick off in December, Poker PRO-ductions announced they will start producing it for GSN, the home of the show.
The show featured the biggest names in the industry, with the likes of Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Doyle Brunson, and many more joining in the past 4 seasons. However, unlike previous times, the buy-in for this event has gone up: instead of $100,000, it will be $200,000 this season, allowing for $400/$800 limits instead of $300/$600 like it was before.
"High Stakes Poker, by a wide margin, has become a must-see on GSN for
poker players and poker fans all over the world. We are happy to bring back the top amateurs and professionals risking
hundreds of thousands of their money in the new season", said Henry Orenstein, High Stakes Poker executive producer.
Mori Eskandani, another of the show's executive Producer, said "I am very excited about the mix of players that we will bring together
for this next season of High Stakes Poker. Viewers are in for a
thrill."
The roster for this next season has not been announced yet,but given the caliber of the show, as well as the past seasons' featured players, the biggest names will most likely join the spotlight in December.

The Article title says "to air in December", but if it's only being filmed Dec. 19th-21st, it probably won't air for a couple of months after that. There's an article here that says Feb. 19th (but it has a different taping date):

thank god it's still the same format... there were some rumors that they were going to switch to Omaha, but they will stick with NL Hold'em for this season as well.
