In September, the PokerStars.net Asia Pacific Poker Tour enters its second season. Apart from the four previous venues, the APPT is also visiting Auckland, New Zealand this year.

The first season of the PokerStars.net Asia Pacific Poker Tour ended in December 2007 with the Grand Final in Sydney. 561 players paid the $5,700 buy-in and thus created a $3 million prize pool. The Australian Grant Levy won the finale in the Star City Casino and received $850,000.

First Stop: Macau

A year and a week after the first APPT event in Manila, Philippines, the Asia Pacific Poker Tour enters its second round.

Venue will be the Grand Waldo Hotel & Casino in Macau, People's Republic of China - only a few days ago, PokerStars opened its first own card room there (we reported it)!

For the six-days Main Event in Macau with a buy-in of $3,200, a prize pool of $1.3 million is guaranteed and 1,000 players at the most may participate (last year there were 352).

Furthermore, the »High Rollers Event« will again take place in Macau. Last year, 64 players paid the $15,000 buy-in, amongst them several top pros like Joe Hachem, John Juanda and Barry Greenstein. The buy-in for 2008 is about $20,000, and there is also a guaranteed prize pool of 1.3 million for the High Rollers Event.

The events in Seoul, Manila and the Grand Final in Sydney are also part of this season. The new and thus fifth city in the schedule is Auckland in New Zealand.

PokerStars will, as usual, offer numerous satellites for the events in due time.
