Kara Scott to host High Stakes Poker Season 6

In a press release today, GSN confirmed that Scott will be the new co-host for the show. The identities of the players were also revealed with Dennis Philips set to make his debut appearance.

Kara ScottAfter much speculation since the news broke about A.J. Benza's dismissal from his hosting duties at High Stakes Poker, GSN has finally confirmed that Kara Scott (pictured right) will be Gabe Kaplan's new partner on the show. This announcement came together with the GSN's press release for the official launch of the show's sixth season.

Scott is no stranger to televised poker as most European television audiences will be familiar with her previous assignments as a presenter for the European Poker Tour. However, this will be her first time being part of a poker show in the United States. According to the press release, “Scott will report from the High Stakes Poker suite, interviewing poker players about poker strategy, big hands and the table dynamics.

Hellmuth, Antonius, Ivey and Dwan confirmed for the show

Patrik AntoniusFor this sixth season, the show's regulars who will be making a return are Patrik Antonius (pictured right), David Benyamine, Tom "durrrr" Dwan, Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson, Eli Elezra, Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Hellmuth, Mike Matusow and Daniel Negreanu.

Besides these regulars, 2008 November Niner Dennis Philips, U.K. businessman and high-stakes player Sammy George, EPT Dortmund winner Andreas Hoivold, online high stakes pro Lex Velhuis and 2009 WPT Championship and WCOOP Main Event winner Yevgeniy Timoshenko will all also be making their debut appearances this season.

The minimum buy-in for the coming season will remain at $200,000, cementing the show's place as the highest stakes cash game on television. Taping begins on 11th November, right after the crowning of the new WSOP Main Event champ and the first episode for the much anticipated new season is scheduled to air at 8:00 PM on 14th February next year.
