Kara Scott to host High Stakes Poker Season 6
In a press release today, GSN confirmed that Scott will be the new co-host for the show. The identities of the players were also revealed with Dennis Philips set to make his debut appearance.
After much speculation since the news broke about A.J. Benza's dismissal from his hosting duties at High Stakes Poker, GSN has finally confirmed that Kara Scott (pictured right) will be Gabe Kaplan's new partner on the show. This announcement came together with the GSN's press release for the official launch of the show's sixth season.
Scott is no stranger to televised poker as most European television audiences will be familiar with her previous assignments as a presenter for the European Poker Tour. However, this will be her first time being part of a poker show in the United States. According to the press release, “Scott will report from the High Stakes Poker suite, interviewing poker
players about poker strategy, big hands and the table dynamics.”
Hellmuth, Antonius, Ivey and Dwan confirmed for the show
For this sixth season, the show's regulars who will be making a return are Patrik Antonius (pictured right), David Benyamine, Tom "durrrr" Dwan, Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson, Eli Elezra, Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Hellmuth, Mike Matusow and Daniel Negreanu.Besides these regulars, 2008 November Niner Dennis Philips, U.K. businessman and high-stakes player Sammy George, EPT Dortmund winner Andreas Hoivold, online high stakes pro Lex Velhuis and 2009 WPT Championship and WCOOP Main Event winner Yevgeniy Timoshenko will all also be making their debut appearances this season.
The minimum buy-in for the coming season will remain at $200,000, cementing the show's place as the highest stakes cash game on television. Taping begins on 11th November, right after the crowning of the new WSOP Main Event champ and the first episode for the much anticipated new season is scheduled to air at 8:00 PM on 14th February next year.

oooh tasty lineup. Almost perfect you might say. Ivey is going to have money to burn the day after the Main Event.Such a shame there will be pitlane interviews and no AJ. Its going to be cringe worthy at times, I can feel it.
If it aint broke, DONT fix it....

lex is awesome, as for kara...benza is awesome, not her, it's just not going to be the same show, what are they trying to do, if they want to attract audience with women then put 10 playboy models around the tablesnot saying kara is like that, far from that, but it's obvious the producers are going for a male-female combination to attract wider range of audience, lame, lame :(

I don't understand why they invite hellmuth everywhere!! He's a bad cash game player and he's not good for tv...unless he loses and he steams...oh now I get it - they know they gonna bust him many time and so the show can be expected :DI would also like to see Gus Hansen (he's been out from cash games for too long), Phil Galfond (never saw him play) and dario minieri.

minieri was in the last season, bit unlucky since every time he bluffed, his opponent had a strong hand, bad timing :P#6

Phil Helmuth has the most wsop bracelets of everyone in the world, so i wouldn't say he sucks when ur earning $10 a day with poker..im not a big fan of him, but poker is poker so if your a pro at tournaments you should also be able to do good in cash games. And from what i've seen on TV from him i can't remember anything that i thought he did horrible.

Im trying to do some justice, guys.Hellmuth is a great cg player also. (PAD "Hellmuth bash" cashgame)
Lex is an idiot sucker. You don't realize, that he was doing those things on the first day, at the main event. Every top pro knows that isnt worthy to risk too much on the first day.
Sammy is one of the greatest for tv, I wanna see him and Phil Laak too.
Gus Hansen is not as good as you think imo. PEACE

Phil Galfond was playing in the second season of HSP for 1 or 2 episodes.(as I remember he played pretty tight, not good for tv) I wanna see him playin, and the other online guys too.
It's pretty good lineup anyway.
