NBC Heads-Up Poker Championship In Play Now
The sixth annual NBC Heads-Up Poker Championship is currently being played out at the Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. The matches will be shown on TV weekly from April 18 to May 23.
The 64 participants of this year's NBC Heads-Up Poker Championship includes top pros, celebrity invitees and 6 qualifiers. The top players who are participating in the championship include Daniel Negreanu, Tom "Durrrr" Dwan, Phil Ivey and defending champ Huckleberry Seed.
As in previous years, the event set-up as a knock-out style tournament with a total of six rounds. A total prize pool of $1.5 million is up for grabs, with $500,000
going to the winner and $250,000 to the first runner-up.
Broadcast starts on April 18
Broadcast of this year's championship will begin with a one hour show on April 18. It then continues with weekly two hour shows, until the finale on May 23, which will be three hours long.This year's event features some compelling match-ups with Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier and Peter Eastgate scheduled to meet in the very first round.
