November Nine: Craig Marquis

Each day a November Nine in detail. Today: Craig Marquis – Marquis is the shooting star at the final table. About two years ago, he began on the $2/$4 Low Stakes, and meanwhile he has established himself both online as well as live in the highest games.
Marquis got in touch with the professional poker sport over a private home game, in which his friend and known poker pro David Benefield
also participated regularly amongst others. After the quick successes in the online limits, he tried his luck in the WSOP for the first time last year, and cashed four times (including the Main Event).
Contrary to most of his opponents, Marquis announced that he wouldn't invest so much time into poker after reaching the finale. "I'll try to relax and have fun, and I don't plan to play a lot of poker. Instead I'll travel to Europe, to then fully concentrate on the game again in November."
Similar to Peter Eastgate, Marquis could also break the record of the youngest Main Event winner of all times, which Phil Hellmuth achieved in 1989
when he won the championship aged 24. And also like Eastgate, Marquis is regarded as an aggressive and analysing player. Together, they represent a whole generation of up-and-coming players who have so clearly characterised the past years.

If he wins, he wants to finance a swimming pool for his parents and himself. However, it is still a long way to go. With 10,210,000 in chips, he will start with the second smallest stack.
