PCA Main Event: Day 1B Done, ElkY and Dario get Awards, nanonoko Sets Record

654 joined Day 1B of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event, to generate a total prize pool of just over $10 million. ElkY. Dario Minieri played today and were both presented with lifetime achievement awards, and nanonoko played 23.5k hands in 8 hours.

It was an eventful day on and off the tables at the Atlantis Resort and Casino in the Bahamas on Day 1B of the latest instalment of the PCA Main Event.

Not only was there lots of action at the tables with many top pros and celebrities like tennis legend Boris Becker and UFC fighter Heath Herring, Randy ' nanonokoPS' Lew also broke the world record for most hands played in 8 hours while remaining profitable.

• 654 more players turn up: The two day total of 1,072 players generated a total prize pool of $10,398,400 and 160 players will be paid with a minimum cash prize of $15,000

• Strong showing by Team PokerStars Pros - Over 30 PokerStars sponsored pros turned up on Day 1B and 19 of them made it into Day 2. The strongest showings were from French pro Arnaud Mattern and Italian pro Luca Pagano who finished near the top with 139,300 and 136,300 chips respectively. Dario Minieri (77,100) and ElkY (64,400) are also still in the hunt.

• Loyal pros earn Specially Engraved TAG Heuers
- In recognition for earning 5 million VPPS, both Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier and Dario Minieri were awarded with specially engraved timepieces on Day 1B.

• nanonoko sets a new world record - After completing his Day 1 stint yesterday, nanonoko fired up 40 tables and set out on an 8 hour grind to set a new world record for most hand played while remaining profitable. He managed to clock in 23,493 hands in that period and also logged a profit of $7.65, not quite enough to pay for dinner at the Atlantis Resort.

• Alex Venovski leads Day 1B, Chino Rheem 2nd - American Alex Venovski who has not made a big score in a major tournament yet will be looking to change that as he will bring a big stack of 193,000 chips into Day 2. Chino Rheem finished just behind Venovski, as a late surge saw him finish with 182,900 chips.
