PartyPoker Premier League IV: Frazer Wins Heat 5

The fifth heat of PartyPoker's Premier League IV saw Ian Frazer collecting the maximum 16 points, while Luke "FullFlush" Schwartz was the runner-up. Overall, Phil Laak is still in the lead with 48 points.

The battle for victory in the fifth heat of PartyPoker's Premier League IV came down to a heads-up match between Ian Frazer and Luke "FullFlush" Schwartz.

The heads-up match was quickly over, as Frazer seemed to have an easy way with FullFlush, knowing when to fold and when his opponent was bluffing.

No changes among top three

With five heats now over, Phil Laak is still in the lead with 48 points. The second place also saw no changes, as David Benyamine remains at his 35 points.

However, Giovanni Safina in the third place is now one step closer to Benyamine. By finishing 3rd in the fifth heat, Safina now has 29 points.  Below are the current overall standings for PartyPoker's Premier League IV:

About PartyPoker Premier League IV

The PartyPoker Premiere League features 12 top players and a prize pool of $1.5 million. Eveyday for a total of 6 days, 8 of these 12 players will participate in a "heat", which is an 8-handed single table tournament. Depending on their finishing position in these heats, they will earn a certain amount of points, which will determine who reaches the final table. $900,000 is reserved for the final table, while the remaining $600,000 will be awarded throughout these heats:

  • 1st place: 16 points and $32,000
  • 2nd place: 11 points and $22,000
  • 3rd place: 8 points and $16,000
  • 4th place: 6 points and $12,000
  • 5th place: 4 points and $8,000
  • 6th place: 3 points and $6,000
  • 7th place: 2 points and $4,000
  • 8th place: 0 points

After the 6 heats are over, the top 4 will be automatically seeded, while places 5 - 8 will play heads-up matches to get the remaining 2 seats at the 6-handed final table: 5th place vs. 8th place and 6th place vs. 7th place. Players start with 300,000 chips and blind levels change after every 21 hands.
