PartyPoker Premier League IV: Negreanu Tops Final Heat

In the sixth heat of PartyPoker's Premier League IV, Daniel Negreanu worked his way through to the top eight players on the final leaderboard. This feat has secured him a chance to reach the final table, as he is now ranked 5th overall.

The sixth heat of PartyPoker's Premier League IV saw Daniel Negreanu taking the first place, thus earning himself the maximum 16 points.

With 26 points overall, Negreanu took the fifth spot on the leaderboard. Ian Frazer accumulated the same amount of points, but due to Negreanu edging him out in the tiebreaker, he finished this stage of the Premier League in sixth position.

In order to enter the final table, Negreanu will have to play a best-of-three match against J.C. Tran (ranked 8th), while Frazer will face off against Roland De Wolfe (ranked 7th).

The four players who have already qualified for the final table are Phil Laak, David Benyamine, Giovanni Safina and Luke "FullFlush" Schwartz. Meanwhile, the players who won't be seen any longer in this event are Phil Hellmuth, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Vanessa Rousso and Tony G.

About PartyPoker Premier League IV

The PartyPoker Premier League features 12 top players and a prize pool of $1.5 million. Everyday for a total of 6 days, 8 of these 12 players will participate in a "heat", which is an 8-handed single table tournament. Depending on their finishing position in these heats, they will earn a certain amount of points, which will determine who reaches the final table. $900,000 is reserved for the final table, while the remaining $600,000 will be awarded throughout these heats:

  • 1st place: 16 points and $32,000
  • 2nd place: 11 points and $22,000
  • 3rd place: 8 points and $16,000
  • 4th place: 6 points and $12,000
  • 5th place: 4 points and $8,000
  • 6th place: 3 points and $6,000
  • 7th place: 2 points and $4,000
  • 8th place: 0 points

After the 6 heats are over, the top 4 will be automatically seeded, while places 5 - 8 will play heads-up matches to get the remaining 2 seats at the 6-handed final table: 5th place vs. 8th place and 6th place vs. 7th place. Players start with 300,000 chips and blind levels change after every 21 hands.
