Phil laak wrote poker history on Monday, when he managed to play poker for 115 consecutive hours. We previously reported here that Laak's goal was to make it to 80 hours, but he kept playing and eventually reached the 115-hour mark.

Following his record-setting achievement, Laak said that this was "one of the most wonderful journeys I've ever taken. It's touchingly human and beautiful on so many levels...I have never had more fun playing poker in my entire life."

He ended his record challenge with a profit of $6,766 and he will donate it all to the Camp Sunshine charity organization.

During these 115 hours, Laak played the $10/$20 cash games at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and several notable names were seated at his table, including Scotty Nguyen, Antonio Esfandiari or Andrew Robl.

The previous record was held by Paul Zimbler, who played for 78 hours and 25 minutes in September last year.
