The Daily Rewind - Elky Fighting, FTP Employee Answers Questions & High Stakes

In today's round-up we take a look at Elky's preparations for his fight against Razi, glance at the latest thread to emerge on 2+2 surrounding the Full Tilt situation and review the latest high stakes happenings. Finally, we serve up #39 of our hot shot countdown.

Elky Fighting Fit

Ali vs. Foreman, Tyson vs. Holyfield and, now, "Elky" vs. "RaSZi". Not since the Great Dane, Gus Hansen, took on the fearless Theo Jorgensen has the poker world stopped riffling their chips to cast an eye of anticipation over a grudge match.

Almost 2 years in the making, Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier and Lex "RaSZi" Veldhuis are finally set to lock horns next month in front of a packed arena. Currently putting the final touches to their training it’s Elky who has struck the first blow, posting a recent video of his preparations.

While much of the video is tongue-in-cheek there’s no doubt the Frenchman is putting in some serious training for the fight. The Battle Royale takes place on November 22nd so be sure to get your bets in early.

Former FTP Employee Answers Questions

The Full Tilt Poker saga continues as a new thread entitled "FTP Former Employee Q&A" sprung up on 2+2 yesterday.  Initiated by the poster "AnyQuestions" the thread has already divulged some interesting information.

According to the insider, "Isildur" had over 7 million locked in his account at one point, the insider doesn’t believe the Tapie deal will go through - citing a lack of communication to staff on the matter in the last 4 weeks - and Ivey’s influence was virtually zero but Chris Ferguson’s was companywide.

"AnyQuestions" identity has been given some credibility by notorious fact finder "NoahSD", but even he has urged the users to be cautious when assessing the reliability of the statements made. You can find the respective thread here.

High Stakes Corner

After a tough week "LiangYu" has finally taken advantage of some positive variance and reduced his $330,000 for the week by over $160,000.

The change in fortunes came mainly thanks to the bad luck of high stakes legend Brian "aba20" Townsend. The American pro has lost $152,000 in the last 24 hours, mainly at the hands of "LiangYu" and French pro, "moirhums".

Also running badly were "Ben86" and "thecorster" each dropping more than $45,000 each.
