Patrik Antonius losses questioned

On Monday we showed you an interview with Patrik Antonius where he claimed he would be one of the biggest losers if Full Tilt Poker did not reimburse players.

Antonius was not only a member of Team Full Tilt, he was one of the biggest winners ever from the nosebleed games on the site.

But this claim has been called into question by TwoPlusTwo moderator Noah Stephens-Davidowitz, who says that Patrik had less than $100 in his account and might even owe the company money.

He said that as Antonius is not a US resident, he had over two months to get his money off the site between Black Friday and the site's suspension in June.

We are not sure how Noah would know this, however he is one of the people behind Subject:Poker, who have been privy to a lot of inside information regarding Full Tilt Poker.

A representative for Antonius then told Pokerisivut.com that the money Antonius was referring to was in the form of outstanding debts with other players.

WSOP Main Event final table to broadcast live

Hot on the success of the live web streams of the WSOP this year, it has been announced that the November Nine final table will be broadcast live, with hole cards, on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN.com.

ESPN.com poker editor Andrew Feldman confirmed this yesterday. There will be a 15 minute delay and at the end of every hand, hole cards will be displayed for any player who voluntarily enters the pot.

Athletes endorsing poker is bad, says psychologist

Canadian hockey player Roberto Luongo has come under fire for advertising a poker site. Luongo is a well known poker fan and psychologist Candace Plattor told CBC News that advertising poker is no better than advertising smoking:

"He's endorsing something that is potentially dangerous. People don't take this seriously enough. It is potentially dangerous. He may as well be saying to people, to kids, 'Sure, go and smoke.'"

"I'm very disappointed that he would do this, I think he doesn't have his facts. I think he might have made a really poor choice."

High Stakes Corner

The high stakes action online has been a bit quiet of late, but there are always huge sums of money on the line somewhere when poker players are involved.

The big winner yesterday was Tony G, who cashed in the WSOPE and by doing, raked in a huge prop bet. He wagered $20,000 with former WSOPE main event champion James Bord that he would cash at 5-1, which won him $100,000 yesterday.

Here is the ever humble and modest Mr G celebrating his win:
