Negreanu sets his goals for 2012

Daniel "KidPoker" Negreanu hit his blog this week to reflect on his poker year in 2011.

The likeable Canadian only managed to achieve 3.5 out of 10 goals last year after making Supernova on PokerStars, cashing for over $1 million in a single tournament, and winning $250,000 in televised cash games.

Negreanu has set himself ten more challenges for 2012, and has got off to a decent start after his 5th place finish this week in the PCA Super High Roller.

Here are the Negreanu top ten tasks for 2012:

1. $1 million in tournament earnings in 2012
2. Regain the top spot on all four all-time money earners list in 2012
3. Regain the #1 spot on the WPT all-time money list
4. Win a WSOP Bracelet
5. One Major Tour Win outside the WSOP
6. Move into 11th place on the WSOP All-Time Cash List
7. Move into 31st on the WSOP All-Time Money List
8. Have a better year than Jason Mercier
9. Crack the top 10 of both the Card Player of the Year and Bluff Player of the Year List
10. Prepare better: No partying before tournaments!

Danish lotto players spilling onto PartyPoker

It's good news for PartyPoker players this week with the news that Danish lottery site Danske Spil has joined the PartyPoker network.

Denmark regulated online poker on the 1st January 2012 although players are still part of the .com worldwide liquidity pool, rather than being ringfenced similar to France and Italy post-regulation.

What's more the figures are already telling; PartyPoker has moved into the number two traffic spot on Pokerscout.com, overtaking the iPoker network and likely to extend the gap having acquired the huge Danish lottery group as a partner.

Low and mid stakes PartyPoker regulars will be pleased at the prospect of a large recreational player pool joining the network and will hope that it has a positive impact on the games.

Di Dang branches out in fish business

Di "Urindanger" Dang is one of the most celebrated high stakes cash game players of his generation.

Dang and his brother Hac "TREX313" Dang have dominated the high stakes online scene for many years but it seems the US online poker shutdown has forced him to rethink his plans.

Dang has opted to stop chasing fish and start selling fish, with news that his new seafood restaurant, Chasin' Tails will be opening soon in Arlington, West Virginia.

Info on his new business venture can be found on the restaurant's Facebook page.

High stakes corner

With the PCA in full swing and a good portion of the high stakes community headed to the Aussie Millions, it's inevitable that the nosebleed action online has quietened down somewhat.

Yesterday saw "bernard-bb" top the tables with a win good for $79,116 according to HSDB. It was a tough day for Ben "Ben86" Tollerene who dropped a painful $142,971 on the day.

Signoff of the Day

Today's signoff celebrates one of the greatest WSOP slowrolls in history. Sadly veteran poker player Jack Ury is no longer with us but we pay homage to him today with his slowroll in the 2009 WSOP Main Event.
