Epic Poker for Sale?

It's been a turbulent inaugural year for the Epic Poker League. In a season filled with controversy, the EPL has recently postponed its fourth Main Event and the million dollar freeroll which is now planned for May 2012.

Rumours of financial problems have inevitably arisen following the postponement, so it comes as something of a surprise that Pinnacle Entertainment is currently in talks with a view to acquiring Epic Poker.

While the advent of a sale may be a surprise, Wicked Chops Poker explain why the potential buyer is not;

"Pinnacle management consists of a number of ex-Harrah's executive staff. Ginny Shanks who currently heads Marketing for Pinnacle, helped run the World Series of Poker when Jeffrey Pollack first arrived and appointed himself commissioner."

The deal could be sealed in as little as 60 days.

High stakes corner

With over $1.2 million burning a hole in his pocket, it was only going to be a matter of time before Viktor Blom cranked up the stakes a notch.

The man known as "Isildur1" had been relatively calm since winning the PCA High Roller this week, but moved up to $100/$200 PLO yesterday with fairly unsatisfying consequences.

Blom was yesterday's biggest loser, who according to HSDB dropped just shy of $300,000 to the likes of "Fake Love888"(+$129,001), "bernard-bb" (+$157,588) and man on fire, "Berndsen12" who collected a whopping $455,556 on the day.
