Too Much Luck In The Mohegan Sun
The Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut struggled with severe profit collapses in the third quarter and found an easy explanation – the incredible luck of its customers.
The net profit decreased in the third quarter by almost 90% in comparison to the same quarter last year. About $611M were made at the tables of the casino - an increase of over 6%. Instead of the usual 17% margin on average, it only decreased by about 11% in the past few months though.
Mitchell
Etess, president of the Mohegan Sun, explained that the casino struggled with an incredibly long barren spell. The misfortune of the casino is of course the fortune of the customers because they currently leave the Mohegan with especially high winnings.
The Mohegan Sun is one of the biggest casinos world-wide. On an area of one square kilometre are over 6,000
Slot machines and 300 gambling tables. Furthermore, the complex harbours amongst others a radio station as well as the Mohegan Sun Arena,
home ground of the local sports team.
