WPT Foxwoods Day 4: Experience is the key
Season VI WPT World Poker Challenge champion Lee Markholt rounds up the final 10 that includes 2 other former WPT champions and 3 final tablists.
With close to an hour to spare, Day 4 of the WPT Foxwoods World Poker Finals was concluded after the elimination of Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi in 11th place. Despite the two-time WPT champ's elimination, the final 10 remaining is definitely not short on experience.
Season VII LA Poker Classic champ Cornel Andrew Cimpan (pictured right) is in 2nd place, Season VII Bay 101 winner Steve Brecher is 8th, while Lee Markholt who won the Season VI World Poker Challenge is the last among the remaining survivors. Other than these three former champs, Soheil Shamseddin, Adam Levy and Kenna James also have WPT final table appearances under their belts.
Sick final hour for Michael Mizrachi
"The Grinder" came into Day 4 among the chip leaders and had a good shot at going all the way. However, two crucial hands in the final hour of play led to his unfortunate elimination in 11th place. Mizrachi took home what must have been a disappointing $46,499.With just 12 players remaining, Mizrachi (pictured right) had more than 1 million chips to his name but lost most of it to a bad beat from Curt Kohlberg. Kohlberg announced all-in for his last 700,000 after a small raise from Cimpan and Mizrachi called instantly from the big blind. Kohlberg turned over A-J but Mizrachi's A-K had him dominated.
The flop however came

to give Kohlberg top pair top kicker. The
on the turn and
was no good to Mizrachi and that meant he had just 390,000 chips left despite playing some good poker throughout the day. Shortly after Todd Terry went out in 12th place, Mizrachi was also shown the exit after his flopped gutshot did not complete by the river.Play will continue tomorrow to determine the identity of the 6 final tablists.
